We all look out for good links and the more and relevant they are the better it is to have them.
However people tend to overdo this technique and at times it leads to harming the site/s they were working on. There should be a limit (human limit) on the linking activities. For example if one site had 1000 links in three days then it spells like "overdone" in Google's language. Result, the obvious :( This is a typical feature with Link Farms which is considered a big no-no in SEO now. Search Engines penalize sites resorting to such things. Also, there are inbound and outbound links between which there should be a healthy balance.
Links and the practice of linking is crucial just like any other SEO technique and should be evaluated, checked before going ahead for Link exchanges. Relevancy and content should be looked into really seriously :)

ReplyDeleteHi Rahul, Page Rank and Keyword Ranking first of all require a detailed study before one starts with the SEO activity.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all work on your keywords. They should be good and widely used (i.e. keywords which most visitors use on net). Some SEO guys advise on not taking up competitive keywords but in my opinion it is better to include them as well.Remember you are in competition here :)
Page Rank comes by good Directory, Articles,Bookmarking, Linking etc. activities. The techniques are the same and so is the "route" to success without any shortcuts :). All the best to you.

ReplyDeleteIn the beginning of the campaign, it doesn't matter how many links you are building a day. What important is that you are building links continuously and ethically.
ReplyDeleteYes outsource SEO, you are right. In fact the ethic and relevant links (as we all know) only are considered by Google.
ReplyDeleteAlso, these days Google has also started checking on the quantity of such links a site makes (say, everyday or two, three days etc.) Their purpose here is to check out any "deliberate" SEO efforts in getting fast success on search engines.
SEO experts advise to keep the linking activities at an average pace and not overdo them.
Google is a puzzle, if someone knows "How To" then success is inevitable !
